Poll Update (9/20)

Today brought two new polls from Michigan that seem to confirm what we already knew, Obama has a slight, but steady lead. The other poll of note took place in Missouri where Research 2000 and the Post-Dispatch showed McCain leading by just four. Missouri has time and time again presented an opportunity for Democrats (see New Jersey for Republicans), but they have repeatedly fallen short. This year presents a different dynamic however, McCain is limited to just 84 million (whereas Obama has opted out of Public Financing, and can spend whatever he raises), and if McCain is forced to use some of that money in a less crucial states, such as Missouri, it may very well cost him.

I broke down and upgraded the server. I'm sure some of you have noticed the speed increase while others have not. It usually takes between 24 and 72 hours for the Domain Name Servers (DNS) to reflect the new hosting address. Everybody will still see the site, but for some it may be slower. These side effects should dissipate shortly leaving what is hopefully a more accessible experience.

I predict that average middle-class republicans will secretly vote for Obama because they know McCain is on the verge of snapping. Like Democrates, they want to survive.

Agree with Anonymous, there will be alot of repubs who won't in good conscience pull the lever for mcsame this time. and they will keep it a secret from their spouses. after all, the only openly interparty couple is carville and matalin lol.

I predict that OBAMA/BIDEN will be linked with Pelosi and Reed and go down in flames. OBAMA has voted 96% with the DEMS. The DEMS are not only for bailing out the Mortgage and Insurance companies but let?s just add a little more and bail out all Americans. So much for reducing the spending by the DEMS???..They don't trust either party but OBAMA likes the CELEBS a little too much. I know let's take the royalities from their Movies, television shows and re-distribute the funds to Americans. Hard working Americans are not asking for handouts or charity from the American Government. 40% of Americans do not pay taxes, if you are not paying taxes but receive 2K in rebate from taxes what is that. Can I write it off my taxes as a charitable contribution or as BIDEN states I want to be very patriotic?

Its so funny that the republican who responded on this did it anonymously. Well, quite frankly he or she will remain an anonymous jackass for their comments. You can't go wrong with voting 96% with the DEMS. Look where we've gone the past 8 years with voting republican you moron. We've got a deficit, unemployment, war, healthcare crisis, energy crisis, social security crisis, medicare crisis, increased corruption...not enough time to list it all. Do us a favor and post a reason why you SHOULD vote for McCain/Palin. It would be tough for me too since you can't get McCain to tell us what his plans are for this country. I've read his books and web sites. NONE show any glimpse into how he intends to right this country. Selecting Palin as his running mate was, quite frankly, an example into his decision making ability...which is awful. All hail the Maverick and the MILF.

This whole ticket is a joke. McBush treated it as such by his "political" choice of VP...country first my rear end. I pray my fellow Americans make their choice using their mind. We all know if race didn't play some role in this, Barack would be ahead by double digits, maybe even by as much as 20points. Given the amount of people that have come right out and stated they couldn't vote for a black man, O is doing pretty well.

Dear Anonymous: Thanks for that stat. But the most alarming stat here is that in 2007 McCain voted 95% in agreeance with Bush policy and his highly corrupt administration AND he voted an overall of 90% with his party since Bush took office. And yet the most frightening part of that stat is McCain is lying about it - LYING. Obama on the other hand voted 40% with Bush - of which Obama can HONESTLY argue that he is moderate.

Obama likes Celebrities too much - riiiiiiiiiiiiiight, he's elitist - blah blah. McCain who left his disabled wife to married a strung out billionaire princess who is currently funding his campaign and has SEVEN homes. An "elitist" politican would be the one who ignored the struggles of the poor and working-class. Giving tax breaks to the wealthy and committing billions of our tax dollars to a needless war is completely out-of-touch with hard working Americans. THAT is elitist.

Barack Obama, who has built the largest grassroots campaign in history, made up of the most diverse constituency in history, is FAR from being an elitist. The only elitist about him is that he has superior intelligence!

No one can be too confident about this election.

There is such corruption going on between misleading ads, what main stream media leaves out from the public and the question of registered voters being disqualified from voting along with accuracy of voting machines. Popular votes no longer win elections.

has anyone noticed how much debt was left behind for the mayor that took office after palin moved on? or how punitive she is for those who do not fall lockstep with her ideas. we have already had that. how did that work for us? Also please let us get this country going, we need to have all americans participate in the fruits of this country, we must circulate the money to jobs and wages - only then will we have a good economy. change the tax structure so that big corporations do not get a tax credit for sending jobs overseas. go ahead check that one out.

I'm a one of the repubs that will be pulling the Obama-Biden this Nov. because I myself and other like me know that we can't afford four more of the McBush years. Putting Palin on the ticket didn't pull me to the base only made me even more determined to jump ship.

Yes you are correct.
But you assume the young are dumb and will vote for Obama by default.
Perhaps your on to something, but have reached the wrong conclusion.
